Who it's for

The household that wants the plan, not the relationship.

Most clients come to Chapter3 looking for an ongoing planning relationship. This engagement is for the cases where that isn't the right fit yet — or might never be.

That covers:

  • People who want a properly structured plan but don't want — or aren't ready for — an ongoing adviser.
  • Households who want to do the implementation themselves and just need a clear plan to act on.
  • Prospects testing the relationship before committing to ongoing — see how the work feels first, decide afterwards.
  • One-off life events — an inheritance, a sale, retirement on the horizon — where a single piece of structured planning closes the gap.

It's not a discovery call disguised as a service. It's a complete planning engagement, with a real deliverable, for a fixed fee.

What's in the plan

A written document covering the whole picture.

Not a portfolio recommendation. Not a product pitch. A full financial plan addressing:

  • Where you are now. A clear picture of assets, income, expenditure, structures and liabilities, in one place.
  • What you're trying to do. Lifestyle goals, time horizons, family considerations — the things that should be driving the financial decisions.
  • The gap, if any. Cashflow modelling that shows whether the plan funds the life — and what closing the gap looks like if it doesn't.
  • The specific recommendations. What to do, why, in what order. Pensions, ISAs, GIAs, corporate accounts, tax-year actions, allowances to use, what to do with surplus.
  • A twelve-month action list. Concrete next steps with clear ownership — what you do, what we'd suggest delegating, what to revisit when.
How it runs

Three weeks. Two meetings. One written plan.

Week one

Discovery

Ninety-minute kick-off call to understand the household, the goals and what's currently in place. We agree the data we need; you share it via a secure portal.

Week two

The work

Cashflow modelling, structural analysis, wrapper review and recommendations. The written plan is drafted, reviewed and finalised. Sent to you ahead of the strategy meeting.

Week three

Strategy meeting

Ninety minutes to walk through the findings, test the assumptions, agree any changes and confirm the action list. You leave with the final plan in hand.

What happens after

The plan is yours. Whether you use us or not.

The engagement ends when you have the written plan and the strategy meeting is done. From there:

  • You can act on the plan yourself. Most of it is clear enough to implement without further help. Some parts may need a solicitor, accountant or specialist — we'll flag those clearly in the document.
  • You can come back to us for ongoing work. If you'd like Chapter3 to implement the plan and become your ongoing planner, we can talk about that as a separate conversation. The £2,500 engagement fee credits against year-one ongoing fees if you continue.
  • You can use it as a one-off and not come back. That's a legitimate outcome. The plan is built to be useful on its own.

No automated follow-up. No "checking in" emails. If you want to continue the conversation, you invite it.
